This the start of making the history of the family Staal.
The first generations Staal lived in the the little village of Roderwolde on a rented farmyard, which was situated behind a still excisting farm. It was demolished early 20th century. What still is a witness is the name of a small canal: "Bartel Jans Staal canal" or in their own dialect "Bartels wieke".

under the arrow under the "r" of Roderwolde.
The Staal brench of Greetje Staal went via Foxhol, Onstwedde to Gasselternijveen.
From there they shifted to Nieuw Buinen, where her grandfather worked as a building contractor and build many farmyards and houses in the wide surroundings. But the Staal family went to many places in Netherlansd but also to America.
